Spending the day with your honey

Joan and I just celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s day. We began the day with breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants, Rick & Ann’s in Berkeley. The coffee, food and service are great. And, amazingly enough, as busy as that street is, we got a parking meter right in front of the restaurant!
A great omen for the rest of the day!
The whole block, with Rick & Ann’s, is so fun. There are vintage clothes, an outdoor flower shop, an artisan bread shop, and a Peet’s coffee. A little window shopping before and after our wonderful meal with the scent of flowers filling the air!
The entire area a-buzz with activity and community — and let’s not forget the dogs! They are a welcome part of the entire experience — As was our elder dog Lexi.
After our leisurely breakfast, we drove across town to the Berkeley Aquatic Park and enjoyed strolling around with our senior dog Lexi. We have a wagon, just for her, so she, too, can fully enjoy the outdoor experience with us.
And, to end this special day with my honey, we dined at a local restaurant, La Pinata. We love sharing the Fajitas, great caramelized flavors. Thankfully the manager suggested we dine in the bar where it was quieter. The Valentine’s crowd in the main seating area was so noisy and crowded — not ideal for an intimate meal together.
It has been 37 years of wanting the best for my honey, to make her happy. And, with that, I try my best to get the “Honey Do” list done. And boy, does it make Joan happy when I do!
How about you?

Perhaps, you don’t have a “honey” to do it, or they don’t have the time, inclination, or talent?

Yet, we understand the list is still important to you and you still want it done.
