Let’s go barefoot!

Some days ya just gotta go barefoot …

These days I am doing my best to stay grounded. With all the events happening globally, nationally, and personally that’s not always easy.

Recently my last maternal uncle, who I had not visited in months, passed away from Covid-19 only weeks after moving to Oregon to be near family. Plus, Joan is dealing with a return of her breast cancer and began an intensive 20-week series of treatments.

It is all so overwhelming at times and I sometimes let my mind wander to “what if” and filling in other possibilities.

So, to get more grounded and enjoy more of life, Joan, our dog Eldred, and I decided to take a walk at Contra Loma Regional park. We all three walked barefoot (well, isn’t Eldred always barefoot?) on the ball field to ground ourselves to Mother Earth. To soak up the healing energy and earth medicine.

It is such a joy to see how dogs play and run full out. Every element of life is enjoyed in the moment … the speed, the grass, the animal life. I felt much better after our outing, though I run much slower than Eldred.

I have always gotten so much energy working the soil, planting vegies, herbs, and flowers. My garden home projects, like planter boxes, are life sustaining. I know this is a good time for this work.

Don’t forget to get some of that Mother Earth energy. Put your feet in and soak it all up.

And, if you’re looking for handyman or electrical work, give me a call.
