Happy birthday to Joan

Today we plan on doing some of Joan’s favorite things, it’s her birthday. Breakfast at Rick & Ann’s in Berkeley, a leisurely walk with our dog Eldred at the Berkeley Aquatic park and lunch at Neptune’s in Alameda. Joan knows what she likes, and I am happy she shares her life with me.

Another way Joan shares, is through her writing. She is a talented writer on many important subjects like … getting rid of clutter, how to make every day money easy and The Adventures of Eldred, our dog, and her muse.

One of my favorite authors, Anne Lamott says, “If you are writing the clearest, truest words you can find and doing the best you can to understand and communicate, this will shine on paper like its own little lighthouse. Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island looking for boats to save; they just stand there shining.”

Joan does her best to understand and communicate and she is my shining lighthouse. Happy birthday Honey.

And for those of you who wish to bring a bit more shine to your lighthouse (your home), give us a call and we’ll see what we can do for you! Maybe a fix or two. Or, brightening up areas of your home.

Is your home as happy as it could be?

I like to read hard copy books. They feel good in my hands and I can explore new ideas and places by reading. That is why I have a book with me, waiting in line, relaxing having a cup of coffee, and commuting; reading only when it’s safe.

Some of my favorite books are; How to Bake Pi, by Eunenia Cheng; Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martine, and The Happiness Equation by Neil Pasricha.

I’ve learned from the The Happiness Equation that my path to success could be filled with more happiness. The approach I have taken has been … Great work followed by Big Success which leads to Be Happy? Who knew this was backwards? As the author shares, “If we start with Being Happy then everything changes. We end up doing great work because we feel great doing it.” Imagine the new path, Be Happy, Great work, Big Success, and you feel great doing it.

His Nine Secrets to happiness are well worth the read. It will open up your mind, heart and life to Happiness. Thank you, NPR, for interviewing Mr. Pasricha.

And, speaking of happiness may we help you with your happiness level around your home?
