Springtime is here! What are you going to spruce up, tidy up, or clean up?

There is so much rain here, it looks like winter not spring. Spring to me is wild flowers, nature hikes and long walks with Joan and our dog, Eldred.

To me, Spring is warm sun light and breezes, gentle rains and the joy of the new and fresh. It brings to mind the annual tradition of spring cleaning, freshening up the house and yard, and preparing for the summer ahead.

For Joan and I, we have a spring project list to do just that. On our list is weeding the garden, planting new flowers, freshening up base boards, installing towel bars, touching up paint, and preparing to replace the deck.

We have already completed several of the indoor items. The outdoor planting beds need to dry up, before we get outside.

In the meantime, I am measuring and planning for the base boards and patio deck. That way we have some idea what materials will cost us. The weather and money flow must fit the timing of when to do our projects.

Spring time is about new beginnings; wild flowers on hiking trails, green grass on the hills, and Eldred our new dog. I know not everyone gets a new dog in spring. We are just lucky.

Eldred is energetic on walks, loves to jump in your lap and has found her bark. When she hears new noises, she barks in alarm. Seems like every move our neighbor makes is something to be alarmed about.

Being a rescue dog, there are adjustments Joan, Eldred and I need to go through. We are very pleased to share our life with our new family member. Eldred has already learned some of the common commands, sit, down and wait. We love this new journey with her.

Along with adding a furry family member for spring. We are planning spring projects around the house; adding new baseboards, sprucing up the deck and freshening up the garden … to name but a few!
